Week 7: First draft sketches
Craft: I made this picture by taking pen to unlined paper. There were not to many necessary steps needed outside the idea to draw and then being able to draw the idea onto the paper
Composition: I drew the two pictures in two particular ways. In the first picture I drew a sad radio getting punched by a new muscular one. I chose to draw it like this because I wanted to show ordinary radio getting knocked out of the way by a new and stronger radio. In the other image I drew two different worlds in which the radios live. On the one side I have original radio in a rainy and sad environment because I wanted to show that ordinary radio has been dreary and sad. On the other side I have a happy radio with a sunny sky and everything is happy. I did this so that it can show a clear escape from ordinary radio.
Concept: In both pictures the central focus is the radio. The two radios are being compared as opposites because of the fact that one is terrible and needs to be taken away from the new radio which brings good music to all. I wanted to be able to show that old radio is sad and that new radio trumps it either with happiness or with strength.
